미국이나 유럽쪽은 크리스마스부터 다음 해까지 휴가인 듯하다. 지난 25일 무려 88개의 무료 어플을 쏟아 내더니 어제 오늘은 올라오는 무료 어플이 거의 없다. 어제는 가격으로 장난치는 어플인 Goal2Action만 잠깐 무료로 올라왔다. 오늘은 가격이 변한 어플이 5개, 이들 중 오늘만 무료로 올라온 어플은 고작 3개다. 이 중 BigLinks와 Color Ball은 이미 유료로 전환됐기 때문에 소개할 오늘만 무료 어플은 하나인 셈이다. 따라서 오늘도 어제와 마찬가지로 사람들에게 유용한 무료 어플 5개와 오늘만 무료 어플 1개, 총 6개를 소개하겠다.

먼저 어제 소개한 iDraw Dialer가 어떤 어플인지 몰라 사람들이 내려받지 않는 것 같다. iDraw Dialer를 아직 내려받지 않은 사람은 꼭 내려받기 바란다. iDraw Dialer는 어제 설명한 것처럼 우리나라 사람들이 좋아하는 기능인 단축번호 기능을 번호가 아닌 그림으로 하는 어플이다. 이 어플은 얼핏 생각하면 불편할 것 같지만 상당히 편하다. 우리나라 휴대폰은 단축번호 기능을 제공한다. 그러나 설사 단축번호 기능을 제공한다고 해도 이 단축번호를 10개 이상 기억하는 사람은 흔하지 않다. 그 이유는 단축번호에 어떤 전화번호를 연결했는지도 기억해야 하기 때문이다.

그런데 iDraw Dialer를 이용하면 이보다 훨씬 많은 단축번호를 기억할 수 있다. 그 이유는 iDraw Dialer는 번호가 아닌 그림에 단축번호를 할당하기 때문이다. 예를들어 큰 아들인 우영이의 전화번호를 다음 그림처럼 '우'짜 모양의 그림에 할당한 뒤 iDraw Dialer를 이용해서 '우'짜 모양을 그리면 우영이에게 전화가 걸린다. 같은 방법으로 이름의 첫자를 그림으로 그려 전화번호에 연결하면 자주거는 사람의 대부분을 단축번호로 할당할 수 있다. 특히 여자 친구의 전화번호를 하트에 연결하면 여자 친구의 사랑을 듬뿍 받을 수 있는 부가적인 효과도 있다.

두번째로 소개할 어플은 소리바다다. 소리바다라고 하면 이미 많은 사람들이 알고 있을 것으로 생각한다. 이 소리바다에 올라온 100만곡 이상을 검색해서 노래를 들을 수 있는 어플이다. 이 어플이 배경에서 실행된다면 아이폰의 킬러앱이 될 가능성도 많다. 그러나 해킹하지 않은 아이폰에서는 배경에서 실행할 수 없다는 점은 조금 아쉽다. Moxier Wallet은 암호 관리 어플이다. 꽤 오래전에 1Password Pro라는 어플이 무료로 풀린 적이 있다. Moxier Wallet은 1Password와 비슷하게 암호를 관리할 수 있는 무료 어플이다. 무료이기는 하지만 사용자 평이 상당히 좋은 암호 관리 어플로 암호를 아이폰과 웹에서 동시에 관리할 수 있다.

SimpleMind Xpress은 아이폰에서 마인드맵을 그릴 수 있는 어플이다. 앱 스토어에서 마인드맵 프로그램을 찾아 보면 많지 않다. 먼저 SimpleMind - mindmapping이라는 7불짜리 유료 어플이 있다. SimpleMind Xpress는 이 어플의 공개판이다. Instaviz라는 10불짜리 어플도 있다. 그러나 Instaviz는 10불의 가치는 없는 것 같다. 마지막으로 iThoughts (mindmapping)라는 8불짜리 어플도 있다. 나름대로 괜찮은 기능을 제공한다. 그런데 SimpleMind Xpress를 추천하는 이유는 일단 무료 어플이며, 마인드맵을 위한 기본적인 기능을 제공하기 때문이다.

Photoshop.com Mobile은 아도브에서 만든 포토샵 모바일판이다. 아이폰의 카메라 기능은 조금 떨어지는 편이다. 그러나 마루님이 이야기 한 것처럼 카메라 관련 어플을 잘 이용하면 하이엔드 디카급의 사진도 찍을 수 있다고 한다. Photoshop.com Mobile은 카메라용 어플은 아니지만 이미 찍은 사진을 간단히 조작할 수 있는 어플이므로 아직 받지 않은 사람은 꼭 내려받기 바란다. SketchBook MobileX는 SketchBook Mobile의 공개판이다. 오토캐드로 유명한 AutoDesk에서 만든 어플로 그림을 아이폰으로 그림을 그릴 때는 가장 좋은 어플이다.

Serinx은 평상시 1불, 제한된 시간 동안 무료로 제공되는 어플이다. Web Audio Browser라는 설명에서 알 수 있듯이 인터넷에서 노래를 찾아 들을 수 있는 어플이다. BigLinks는 1불에서 무료로 전환됐지만 현재 유료로 바뀐 어플이다. Facebook, 트위터와 같은 사이트를 바로 열 수 있는 일종의 책갈피 어플이다. 이런 어플을 돈내고 살 사람이 있을까 싶지만 의외로 앱 스토어에는 이런 어플이 많다. 마지막으로 Color Ball은 그래픽이 깔끔한 게임 어플이다. 평상시 1불, 3000 내려받기 까지만 무료로 제공된다. 아쉽지만 이 어플도 이미 유료로 바뀌었다.

오늘은 무료 어플이 너무 적어 무료 어플에 대한 글을 올리지 않으려고 했었다. 그러나 트위터 팔로어 중 상당수가 오늘만 무료 어플이 없다면 유용한 무료 어플이라도 소개해 달라는 청이 많아 이렇게 무료 어플을 소개하는 글을 올리게 됐다. 다만 이런 소식을 조금 더 빨리 알고 싶다면 트위터 가이드를 읽고 나를 팔로하기 바란다. 트위터로는 글을 통해 소개하기 힘든 100명 한정, 한시간만 무료와 같을 어플도 올리기 때문이다.
